Adenoviruses, there are seven of them: A, B, C, D, E, F, G. For often, only B and C cause respiratory diseases, but D causes keratoconjunctivitis. In the main, adenoviruses cause infections in children. Still, in adults, they can harm the respiratory tract, create high temperatures, which is very difficult to lower, as well as cystitis.

One of the viruses that make people sick with pneumonia is respiratory syncytial. It can cause illness in infants; most often, these are children who have been diagnosed with heart disease since childhood. It is in winter that this virus is most often active.

Parainfluenza is another viral infection. This can damage the upper respiratory tract, such as the larynx. Like most viruses, it is transmitted by airborne droplets. In total, five types of this virus are known, and only three of them can harm a person. This virus affects both children and adults when you are near a sick person; it can cough, after which you inhale these small drops of the virus, and they settle on the larynx, as well as in the blood, such cases appear. 

Bocavirus was discovered recently. Until today, the behavior of the virus is studied by many medical scientists. Little is known about him, for example, that he can cause illness in children more often than in adults.

Finally, we came to coronaviruses. They differ among themselves if they are carefully examined under a microscope. We’ll talk about one of them in detail; this is HKU 1.

What is known about this virus?

According to well-known doctors, the disease can spread from winter to summer. Although there are reports of the resistance of this virus, there is no strong hope for seasonality. You should not expect an effective vaccine or antiviral drugs. According to some experts, at least 40% of the planet’s population will become ill with coronavirus infection.

A group of international experts concluded that most people infected with the virus (80%) have the disease quickly and recover. About 13.8% of those affected had severe symptoms, such as shortness of breath and blood oxygen saturation, and 6.1% of patients were critically ill. The overwhelming majority of the infected have symptoms of the disease. Cases, where people were found to have the virus but had no, signs were rare, and most of them began to develop in the next few days.

The most common symptoms of coronavirus infection are fever (87.9%), dry cough (67.7%), fatigue (38.1%), sputum discharge (33.4%), shortness of breath (18.6%), sore throat (13.9%), headache (13.6%), muscle aches (14.8%), chills (11.4%). The less frequent disease is accompanied by nausea and vomiting (5%), stuffy nose (4.6%), and diarrhea (3.7%). The runny nose is not a symptom.

Children under the age of 18 are very rare: only 2.4% of all cases. An extremely small proportion of patients under the age of 19 have experienced severe (2.5%) or critical (0.2%) disease. For the most part, children are infected with the adult virus in their home, but it is impossible to determine the role that children play in the transmission of the virus.

According to the report, women become infected as often as men, but men are twice as likely as women to die from the disease. 2.8% of infected women died from the disease, while 4.7% died among infected men. The disease does not take a more severe form in pregnant women. In 9 cases of births in infected women, the infants were born by caesarean section and remained healthy. What happens to embryos during the first or second trimester is unclear. In certain age groups, incl. people over 50 are much more likely to get sick.

  • Maintaining basic hand hygiene and breathing, avoiding close contact with coughing and sneezing people.
  • Do not touch the dirty hands of the eyes, mouth, mucous membranes, although a person may do this uncontrollably several times a minute.
  • To do wet cleaning more often with the use of disinfectants.
  • In places where there are many people, objects, and surfaces that are frequently touched must be cleaned and disinfected. It is best to use a 70% ethanol-based disinfectant. Chlorine-containing solutions are ineffective against coronavirus infection, but they have a pronounced antibacterial effect. It should be remembered that the remedy is very short-lived. Only now has the search for those substances which will last for a long time begun.
  • People should stay home if they are sick. It is essential to seek medical help promptly and to follow the rules governing such treatment in the regions.
  • Planning the trip should clarify the epidemiological situation in the area.
  • Avoid contact with farm animals or wild animals such as bats, etc. When contacting pets, you should not forget about hand washing. Raw animals cannot be consumed, although this is not typical for Ukrainians.
  • Eat healthy foods, drink hot tea or other beverages frequently, and maintain psychological balance, as the condition of the human immune system depends on it.

But the DNA virus can enter the cell and live there for a very long time, without destroying the cell, which is why they also cause long-term chronic diseases. Here we take, for example, herpes, it lives for many years in a cell, and the coronavirus cannot cause chronic diseases.

Our tissues need oxygen, hemoglobin, which is located in red blood cells, they load the lungs with oxygen, after which they carry oxygen to the muscles. Such people have little oxygen, and therefore it will be harder for them because of a lack of oxygen in the body.

It turns out that bacteria also get sick, most often with viral infections, that is, viruses that penetrate inside the bacteria, often killing this bacterium.
